Global Programs

    Information Sessions & Events

The Office of Global Programs hosts a variety of info sessions and events throughout the academic year. These in-person and virtual sessions are opportunities for undergraduate students to explore their study away opportunities at NYU and gain a better understanding of the requirements and planning necessary for a successful study away semester. Visiting students (non-NYU) are welcomed to attend where noted, and some sessions will be designed specifically for the parents/guardians of students planning to study away.

    Information Sessions

    General Information Sessions

This session focuses primarily on fall/spring/academic year study away opportunities, but will touch on the breadth of study away programs at NYU and such as short term opportunities like summer and j-term. Learn about the similarities and differences between programs, how to research and plan your study away semester, costs and financial aid, experiential learning opportunities like the academic internship program, and more. In-person and virtual sessions are available.

Giveaways and prizes will be available to those who attend in-person.

    International Exchange Information Sessions

    Parent or Guardian Information Sessions

Parents and guardians are integral to the study away process, and without your support many students would not be able to achieve their study away goals. This session will cover the basics of NYU Study Away and address many of the most frequently asked questions by parents. Parents and guardians will gain a better understanding of the requirements and expectations of students, from when they submit their interest form to their arrival at their study away site.

    Real Talk Series

The “Real Talk” series is a program created by the Office of Global Programs (OGP) and the Global Center for Spiritual Life (GCSL). It is offered in partnership with the division of Student Affairs (SA) and the Office of Global Inclusion (OGI).

Each “Real Talk” consists of a facilitated conversation among former study away students from multiple NYU global sites who discuss matters related to navigating identity while studying away in a new cultural context. Sessions are coordinated and moderated by staff members from OGP, CSL, OGI, and other SA partners.

“Real Talk” programming is typically offered during the Spring semester of each academic year, usually throughout the month of April.
