The NYU Washington, DC, Global Leadership Program is a partnership between the NYU Leadership Initiative and the Office of Global Programs. The program offers a unique opportunity for select NYU undergraduates to interact with leaders from a variety of fields, to pursue experiential learning opportunities in Washington, and to study global leadership with a diverse cohort of students. Leadership Program students take an intensive leadership course and choose from the rich curricular offerings at NYU’s Washington, DC. In addition to any regular financial aid that they may receive, Leadership Program students are also eligible to receive a leadership grant to support their participation in this program.

Please use this form to nominate any students whom you know and think would benefit from this program. Nominated students will receive an invitation to apply.

Note: Students may apply directly, a nomination is not required to be selected for the program.

What to look for in a future Leadership Program student:
    • Students who have demonstrated a motivation to step up. They don't necessarily need to hold a formal leadership position.
    • Students who see a problem and act to solve it whether in the classroom, the community or another setting.
    • Students who work to create connections and build community, such as in the way that they interact with peers in class or in a residence hall.
    • Students who are committed to their own learning and personal growth. They don't need to be perfectly polished but are hungry to learn and get better at what they do.
    • Students who have a sense of the kinds of questions that animate their life, who are passionate about particular lines of inquiry and seek to build a body of work around them through their scholarship, service, leadership and career.
